Why not have the book PEARL STREET PARK:THE PROVING GROUNDS, written by a Charlottean, made available at Pearl Street Park, or, nevertheless, recognized in some fashion or manner, happiness in true history once in Pearl Street Park? Why not have the author read from the book in the amphitheater? Why not invite the Charlotte families who are characters in the book to the amphitheater to be recognized by the political, business and educational leaders of Charlotte or of North Carolina? Maybe the governor would like to acknowledge them. Somebody. The amphitheater, as grand as it is, would be a delightful honor and extension to these once displaced (overcomers) people. I wonder why the museums here are uninvolved with this book and its people. I am proud of of this city, its leaders, and this beautiful park. Maybe the Charlotte Observer can lend a hand in seeing this..."once upon a time."
